In years past, the “Air Hogs” line of flying, remote control toys made a hit so I can’t do that again this year. Because Chicago is a cold-weather area with lots of snow, outdoor-type toys or gifts have limited use unless they are cold-weather hardy or designed for use in snow. His mother always gets him practical things like clothes so he looks to me, his Dad, to get him cooler stuff that maybe others haven’t gotten or that his friends don’t have. So I’m looking for something that will generate that “Oh Wow!” experience when he opens it on Christmas Day. He will be with his mother then so I won’t get to see him open his presents. Ergo, I want to be represented there with something impressive but not outrageously priced since I’m not exactly a Rockerfeller yet and send most of my disposable income to their mother for child support. I love my children and want to bring them something heartfelt that shows thoughtfulness and understanding of their age. Your suggestions?

Wow..okay…I live in the Chicago area, so I am trying to put a little thought into this! (from someone who doesn’t have kids, so sorry if these are bad…lol!)
My first thought was a snow board – tons of snowboarding areas in the area, but maybe a safety thing that you don’t want to get caught up in!

I probaly would buy him a lego. Though if you dont want him to get bored buy him a lego that can be built into many things. Or if you want him to be amazed buy him a electronic toy like a gameboy

that is a very nice attitude … the flourishing stuff today is gaming.. so y dont u get him a Handheld PSP gaming device thats pretty cheap, if ypu can shell out a lil more try XBOX or playstation gaming devices … they are too cool n will fascinate every kid .. i bet on that … have a nice time ..
